That looked very familiar.I remember seeing something like it back in the old days,but I don't remember a company named "Griffin".
That does look like it's old...that blade looks as though it's seen a lot of sharpening over the years (kinda like my old Taylor/Seto).

Oh,and if I remember correctly,the silver is just a thin overlay on the sides of the handles.At least it was on the one that I remember from the early 80's.
