Argh.

I had a CF Millie in s90v on order with Midway Knife and Tool. The only problem is that the knife was out of stock but they didn't bother emailing or phoning to tell me. I waited about 2 weeks before calling and finding out.

Now I can't seem to locate another one. Anyone one know where I can still find one? Thanks

Scott

Not to say you won't find one. There always seems to be 'that one' hiding out there somewhere but this one was released some time ago. Most of my regular shops have been out for a while.

Good luck in your search,

Ken

Nope, though you can try the bay every now and again. I was very lucky picking one up for just shy of $200 there.

You might also want to just consider investing in a S90V/CF Manix 2. That knife rocks.

I have been considering that Manix model but was hoping to get a larger knife. I have a Para in D2 and a Caly 3 in ZDP-189. Maybe I'll just get the Manix and call it good.

Someday I would love a large folder in s90v.

I think Spyderco is the only company to offer folders in S90V, I could be wrong though.

So far you have the Mule, Military, and Manix 2. The Manix to is a very stout knife. Same peel-ply carbon fiber, same S90V with a FFG.

To be honest offered the choice I would still take the Military, but that's because it's an amazing knife and I don't think you could find a better slicer anywhere. The Military's blade is a bit longer, a bit thinner near the tip, lighter weight, tip down carry, and a larger handle to grip. Those are the reasons I find it a winner, but the Manix 2 is a sure thing for under $80. Even at the $170 cost for the S90V version you're getting the steel, the CF handle, the CBBL, and an almost custom level of F&F.

I have the s90 military which is why, when I found out they were hitting the market, I placed an order with Roger for the s90 manix 2. I would recommend that if you are interested in the manix 2 in s90, you pull the trigger asap. Roger told me that there are only 400 being made and they are going very quickly. I don't use my knives extremely hard, but they do get a workout. I have had exceptional performance from the s90 military - its a tossup between that and the bg42. Just got the manix 2 yesterday - when the saber grind manix 2 came out, I was not that enamored with it. I have the original manix and minimanix and the ffg is where its at, which is why I waited for the s90 version. The s90 manix 2 is not quite as tanklike as the originals, but you definitely can see the linage. The steel is great - really is worth keeping your eye out for the s90 mili - watch the sales forum, they do come up occasionally.

Not sure what your budget is but I found one for sale online for a premium. Let me know if you would like me to email a link to you.

Regards.

Doug

AFAIK, the Military in CPM S 90 V was a sprint run. They were made in the end of 2007 (mine has LG on it's box , that's December 2007).

Thanks for the heads up. I was looking at that ad just the other day, but being a cheap bastard, I figured I'd rather wait for a scratched up user to show up on the exchange. Wonder how long they've been out of stock ;)
