Missed out on Schrade Display

I have been eying a schrade display at the local hardware store. Sharpfinger, guthook skinner, golden spike, fillet knife and uncle henry folder in a glass case. I hadn't realized they were all there, since most of the display was empty.

Well, I went in yesterday and the display case is filled and a sticker marked "sold" was pasted to the display case :mad:

Apparently, they did have all the other knives; they were just underneath the display and somebody asked before me and got it. Hopefully, they paid more for it than I would be willing to.

That would have been a cool display.
 
I hate when that happens, I was eyeing up a SAK display the place was closing, the guy said come back in a week and I could have the display, SOB sold half way through the week.

I should have left mt phone# and offered a deposit. :(
 
These displays come up all the time on ebay, both full and empty. The empty ones usually go pretty cheap. The full ones....well.... they are filled with solid gold. Recently a huge old Walden case, full I might add, was bid up to $1500 or so. The reserve was about three thousand!

I was surprised though, it was a hardware store in Brandon Vermont, population about 3,500. I figured I could lie in wait and get it later. :p

I shoulda checked out to find out whether the display case was full though, thats the thing that I dropped the ball on.
