Any body else miss out? Gp knives seems to always get the knives first for some reason . But yea it was in stock and by time I entered in cc info...GONE.

Many of us experienced the same troubles with REX 45 PM2. Lots of discussion about that knife here.

Yea picked up my phone about 10 min after the email came in and that was the nail in the coffin lol I got it preordered at KC but who knows if I made the cut on that list feel like I got to it late.

rex45 steel is such an oddball composition, I want to try it some day
very high hardness, and very high amounts of Tungsten, Moly, and Cobalt...

Typical Chemistry
Carbon1.30%
Manganese0.30% (0.70%)*
Silicon0.50%
Chromium4.05%
Vanadium3.05%
Tungsten6.25%
Molybdenum5.00%
Cobalt8.00%
Sulfur0.06% (0.22%)

I'm sure if they all sell out, they'll find a way to make more ... they are in business to make $ after all

Yes they are however Spyderco makes a certain amount on sprints which is what this is and that's it. Then it's only secondary market after that.

If it's popular, you might find a dealer or wholesaler exclusive in its wake. That has happened. Not sure if REX 45 will be popular enough, obviously.

Oh yes maybe he meant the steel. Yea I think they will make more folders with this steel in the future. I just happen to collect para 3s

Don't worry, the flippers will have them available any minute now. :D

Long as there are fervent buyers for these sprints, the flipper market will flourish.

If Spyderco made a huge number of them, they wouldn't be able to ask the same price.

Nothing wrong with them doing it...more power to them and all the manufacturers cranking out the sprint runs and LEs.

Oh totally agree. Spyderco and Sal and his family are geniuses. They know exactly what they are doing. He has created demand for his product so well. There is no secondary knife market as big as the Spyderco one.

I was kind of interested and at the same time not. I like PM2's enough, I love orange, and I really like the way REX 45 sounds. If it was a Manix I'd have probably bitten, but I thought I'd let this one slide. All the pictures in the other thread are making me a bit envious, though my shot at getting one now are next to nil(f**k the flippers).

I was lucky enough to get one today. I usually miss out as well. Still wanting that recent CTS-204P Para 3 exclusive!!

KAI is no slouch when it comes to that either with their ZT LEs.

Could be they got in a few of the collector's club samples. Those ship first.
