many know that sadly i lost my wife ..well..i have to leave
and in starting packing .. well ..

i had looked for two 124's recently as one formite here knows
and could not locate them at that time..
well i located them a during the weekend before my wife passed away
and put them were i could easly access them..
and i know this was not the best place but
it was out on top of her dresser that is next to mine..
well...
they are missing again.. this time it is not a misplacement..
i shall not spectlate on the reason they are missing here..

they are two 124's
one with a red micarta handle the other a white micarta handle
my other 124's are accounted for.
some of my 110's are missing but i dont know which yet..
{{it is none in my displays as they were locked..}}

but have not finished packing them all yet..
{{a friends box of knives is secure still..;)}}

if any one comes on any knives being sold from
Virginia or Maryland or Illinois
that match these 124's, would you contact me please
if i can determine which other knives i am missing i will post here also..
thanks guys..

Wow Dave that just aint right-sorry to hear your tough situation is now tougher.:(

Sounds like the knives departed in the hands of a knowledgeable collector. The White and Red 124s are truly some the most desireable of the 124s and would require some knowledge of them to single them out.

It will interesting if the same discriminating taste was exercised in the departure of your other knives.

The red 124 will be the less common and more recognizeable if offered for sale. Unfortunately, they may likely just go into an enhanced collection of 124s and not be offered for sale.

Sorry for your added loss.

Telechronos:):):)

Man,I know the feeling all too well Dave, hope you find them my friend,It still bothers me years later,I hate the feeling..:thumbdn:

Dave, that really Sucks about your knives... :thumbdn: ... They could end up in a pawn shop... ...

Dave I feel for your loss, I do know what you are probably feeling. I had several guns that decided to grow legs shall we say, insurance company only made it worse. My prayers are still with you. HL

Dave,

That just sucks...talk about kicking a guy when he is down!

Dave were any of those folks around when you knife fund stash went missing? It maybe the same thief.

Talk about adding insult to injury!

Well, there are people who survey e-bay regularly and go to the shows and sales. Hopefully these will turn up. It's not as if you weren't already suffering a tremendous loss. In perspective the knives are minor, but it's still not welcome and a disappointment.

dayummmm !
you are right !!!
glad you remembered that!!!
thanks pal!!!i needed that!

I guess at a time like this Bro it hurts even more........They[whoever they are] will reap what they sow.....Take good care of the rest.

Dave I'm so sad to hear this ,if you haven't reported this to the Police you should do so promptly.Get a copy of the Police report. If you have homeowners insurance, report the theft. You may be covered for your loss.Today in El Paso, Officers spent hours hauling truck loads of stolen goods into the station after some thief's houses were searched. A bunch of people will be getting their property back. You remain in my thoughts and prayers. Your Pal Tom

Get them off-site as soon as you can...Lock and key...They might come back!

Although I know none of the details and it is none of my business, in my experience in law enforcement I have seen brazen home robberies and have seen anecdotal reports from reliable sources that individuals will target grieving families for prescription drugs, firearms etc. After hearing of a death and knowing there will be no one home during viewings, funerals etc.....truly sick people who need to be off the street. My condolences again and best of luck with recovering your knives

Welcome Puncher, So, good info.. Hope in another post you may tell us some about your Buck knives . DM

thanks puncher...
all of the pain killers she had were disposed of by hospice
there were none in the house..
as with many missing items ...
it is not always a stranger that took them
most likely it was some one known..
yes bi thought of fileing a report ..
but thought it was too late..
i was "angry" ... and ... had other things to do..
one of which was to change all the locks..
but i found i had windows that were not locked ..
they are now...
found the wifes older will ...
i feel very much loved again...
((hugs and warm fuzzys))

Thanks dm, will do an intro separately rather than hijacking this thread. Again dave, my condolences and wish you had not had the theft piled on also.

Dave,
I didn't want to add to the misfortune of having one loss after another, but I was also thinking that the knives were perhaps taken by a "known" person.

The opportunity was there and typically, when a "robber" strikes it, is usually a mess, as they don't care about anything but finding valuables.

I hope everything works out for the best, under sad circumstances.

Regards,
Peter

It's a new sunrise and the lord saw fit to give us another day.I hope today is kind to you Dave. Your Pal Tom
