ok, ESEE offers a 3,4,5,6 and the Junglas (with it's 10.5" blade) could be called the 10 right? well, where are the numbers between 6 and 10? if you look at a picture of the line up from the arrow head up the the Junglas, you'll see one heck of a jump between the 6 and the 10 compared to little stepups between the others.

plus, with the Ontario RAT line, there's a RAT7. where's the ESEE 7 or the ESEE 8? are these going to be offered, some day?

Don't think we'll see them. Really they don't fill a niche other than offering blades in 1" increments.

The Junglas lots of us thought for sure would be called the ESEE-10, but Jeff poo-pooed that idea for us when he first posted the pic of it. The knife line is pretty well covered in my opinion. But I'm always open to new ideas.

the missing link, there was a thread a while back on what's missing in the ESEE line up etc... and of course I posted my thoughts..

but the new EE card that Jeff posted about made me think, I'll have to change my previous comments..

I'd like to see a card very similar to the EE but with an added button compass, whistle, and thermometer all-in-one..

The blades are fine.. although I'd like to see a ESEE machete similar to the Condor Golok.. :D or even the martindale with similar thickness etc..

Agreed. I don't see how a 7-9inch blade would offer many more advantages than the smaller 6, or a Junglas.

But knowing ESEE they'd find something we'd all sell our souls for...

They need to make an ESEE-11. Longer, slightly thicker, and 1 more better than the Junglas. Etched on the side, "This one goes to 11!" :p

It was last winter I think when Jeff talked about how RAT/ESEE was moving in a new direction as far as gear. Maybe new direction isn't the way to put it, but basically that they were going to be getting in to soft goods some (backpack and whatever they call that monster duffel :D) and new versions of existing knife models (clip points, Izula II) and of course the folder was starting to brew back then.

What was missing last year was a larger knife/chopper in my opinion. Enter the Junglas. Machete, boom Lite Machete. Still looking forward to the Izula folder.

Jeff and Mike have probably been the most consistent company I buy from with putting out products that make me say "Man, that's well thought out, I like that." Every company has their misses for me personally but ESEE has it down.

The RAT 7 and ESEE 6 are almost identical in length despite the names, so no biggie there.
in reality, the 7 & 9 niche is filled by Becker - no need to reinvent the wheel, unless it's to get ESEE style scales on them. :)
and yeah - a 12-14" golok would be nice, but the Condor with it's walnut grip is a pretty good substitute there as well.
