I had to do a terrible thing this week.........sell two of my Sebbies:( . Let a large Classic with blue leather inlays and a large 2001 bocote inlaid go to a new home. Sometimes though you just gotta do what you gotta do, and I hadda' do it. Of course I am happy to say they both went to the same new home where I think they will be well taken care of:). Put me in such a funk that I got out my 2001 large ironwood Sebenza ( hadn't carried it since early December when my brown leather Classic arrived ) and took it apart. Cleaned it right up with some Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish, relubed the pivots, polished the washers, and finally, I took some Johnsons Paste Wax to the ironwood. Looked just like it did the day I picked it up from Chris at the Blade Show!:D Well by now I was on a roll and took my brown leather Classic apart and performed the same on it, bringing it back to a state of near minteness. After all that I don't feel so bad now and it will only be a month before my large wood inlaid Classic is ready, per e-mail from Bridgett.

BTW, I tried some "White Lightning" on the pivots, and not the kind this neck of the woods is famous for;), and it really makes the blade glide open. Will have to see how it stands up over the long haul before I put my CRK fluronated grease away!

Anyone else out there have a horror story of getting rid of a Sebbie or two? Get it off your chest........its good therapy:rolleyes:

Hello, I understand....It's one of those things that you feel naked if you don't have a few around.
But since they carry a pretty price tag the value can be a deterent. i.e. keeping them when you need cash or trading material for other knives. As luck would have it I have not had to sell any yet:p (nock on wood!!) Anyway you still have a few around.....and thats great!!

Art. Yeah, that stuff is pretty good. I've been using it on various knives for a while. I wanted to test it out on some, lets just say, lesser expensive folders before applying it to one of my Sebbies. I was using Wilsons Combat Universial Lube. It works great and stays where it's put. But one of finer qualitites of White Lightning is the way it does not attract dirt or lint. Also after time the top layer of the applied coating will flake off and expose a new. Kind of neat.

Glad to hear you still have a Sebenza or two to tide you over till your wood arrives. Bet ya can't wait! It's great when you turn on your computer and see a message from Bridget and CR knives. I have a couple of piece being worked on as we speak. Hoping to get one of them in a couple weeks. Post some pics of your WIS when you get it!

:)

Art,

Since Basic doesn't allow you to post pics here, I emailed you a "family" photograph so you could see your / my Sebbies Siblings :D
