I finally got all the production-run versions of the Camillus Beckers for my user set. I'm excluding here the tan BK-7, tan BK-9, and tan BK-10. Those versions never interested me much as users, seeing as how they're identical in form to their darker brethren. I've seen a couple/three that were heavily used, and I'm not so fond of the way that the tan finish wears on them. If I were actually using them in a desert environment, I might have a different take.

Anyway, I was lacking the BK7SG, had tried for a while to locate one via active duty military contacts, but had never been able to find one. A little bird named Bladite informed me this morning that one had been seen floating around the Bladebay. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but considering it came with a Spec-Ops Combat Master sheath (~$40 value), I sucked it up and did the Buy It Now. The market will probably flood with $60 BK7SG's soon, but at least I'll have my complete set of users.

I'd been saving my last set of micarta scales for one of these serrated BK-7's, should it turn up. Now I'll be able to update this pic. I've got a BK-77 and now the BK-7SG to add to the line-up. If there's another version that I've somehow missed, I don't want to know about it. :D The BK-8, of course, is a non-production rarity, and it would never be a user anyway.

Here are the Bladebay pics of the BK-7SG for those interested. I've seen at least one place that put after-market serrations on knives, including Beckers. However, this BK-7SG exactly matches my BK-2SG in terms of number and pattern on the serrations. Pretty certain it's the real deal from the factory.

Unless Beckers are picked up by someone, I doubt that any well liked Beckers will see the $60 mark again.
I am trying to save to make a large downpayment on a different house, so I am trying not to do any new buying.
I am even thinking of putting my extras on the market.

tweet tweet little bird :)

excellent on the full set. i WAS theoretically tempted by that, but i said, no more purchases for a while, and a nice little bird name guyon helped me find a vintage BK2 campanion epoxy/powdercoat sterile that i didn't have. i like the old stuff. coming along nicely there :)

Concrats on your full set. Great looking collection, I only own the 2 and the 10, and I am still tempted on the 5. Thanks for this thread.

Is the serrated 2 a good user? Allways feel that serrations are in the way of finer work.
Cheers
