Mission Critical Tools?

I have a Parasite V-1 tool and a Parasite V-4 tool/knife. The V-1 is a neat little tool but I have some reservations about the V-4 knife. The "PCM-105" steel on my particular knife refuses to take an edge. Anyone else 1) have one of these and 2) have any issues with it?

Thanks!

I have a Parasite V-5 I bought right when they came out. It holds a razor sharp edge. If I recall the V-4 is is the drop point type. I know they are made by Aaron Harris. The PCM-105 Steel is a high carbon steel very similar to 1095. if you dont mind me asking where did you get yours from?

I got it from Moore Cutlery online. I've tried to get a good edge but it doesn't want to take one.

I would call up Gary the owner of Moore Cutlery and see what he might reccomend. I would also try getting in contact with Aaron Harris. Perhaps he could make sure it was properly heat treated. The mission critical are essentially a custom knife so the maker would know best.

I recently became a big fan of Aaron's knives and was fortunate to find a custom 1of 1 Vulcan out here in L.A so when I heard of M.C.T being sold on Blade H.Q
I went nuts and ordered almost 1 of everything offered.
I bought the Parasite PV1, Parasite V5 , Parasite V3 and 1 each on the Dog Tag knives....needless to say they arrived a few days later and I can't begin to express how dissappointed I was
in every piece I ordered. All the tools were very dull , and the knife tools had uncomfortably small handles which made them hard to use ( and I have small hands ) .
I ended up returning every item except one dog tag necklace and included a note asking to not be charged the restocking fee if possible because of how dissappointing the items were.
I didn't bother trying to resharpen knives that should have already arrived sharpened and ready to use . I hope Aaron comes up with something a little more practical in the future because I still consider myself a fan
