Well, I'm back from my Thanksgiving trip to TX and OK and still no Emerson in my pocket. I mosied into the House of Blades as Mr. Jenkins suggested. Wow! Never seen such a gathering of fine knives in all my life. Wow! Never seen prices so ridiculously high! At least $100 over and above prices I've seen on the net.

The good news is they let me play with a Commander for a couple of minutes. I was going to get the Mini Commander, but I absolutely fell in love with the regular one. Guess what's on my Christmas list?

I also went into a gun store in Yukon, OK, where they sold every brand of knife but Emerson. That may not mean much in this forum, but they had the lowest prices I've ever seen, including the net. Will have more info on this place tomorrow if you guys are interested. I picked up a Gerber A-F Covert for $65. Best deal I've ever seen on that knife.

So for now, I am still a Benchmade suspect. That count?

Cheers

Reh-tall?
ray-tell?
row-tool?

Never heard of it. What is it and why would you want it?
;)

Is it anything like MSRP?

"A Benchmade suspect" ??
That in itself is suspect !!!
It is your mission that you will come to your senses and rid yourself of this ghastly Oregon based knife conglomerate and see the light that is the Commander and it's ilk !!!

Trying to change that as quickly as possible. That mean ol' woman I married thinks we should be spending money on baby food and such rather than knives. She can be generous 'round Christmas time, so we'll see.

For what it's worth, that shop I mentioned above is at www.outdooramericastore.com. The fella there said to call about pricing since they couldn't advertise specials for legal reasons. Said they'd beat any price. Likely to give http://www.discountknives.com a run for its money.

Cheers
