Hi, does anyone here own or have experience with the Mission knife MPT12-A2 ?
(Good and negative)

Does it hold up well in normal use for say...outdoor camp chores?
...maybe some light bush crafting?

Does the A2 steel hold a good edge?...and is it difficult to sharpen?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

No experience with the MISSION A2 knives.

I do have the MPS-Ti, the MPU-Ti and the the MBK-Ti how ever and they all ROCK!

I use the MPS and the MPU quite a lot and they work fine.

They all hold up extremely well (small wonder as they are quality knives). My MPS is used a s a camp knife/general hunting knife and its pretty much indestructable.

The MPU use can be seen below. The small knife is excellent in a skinning role. Those who say titanium cant be sharpened properly and/or wont zip through bambis obviously never handled Beta-ti to any serious degree. My MPU goes through several deer in one session with no noticable loss of sharpness.

I never have to worry about rust and this is important to me - especially as my kayaking knife sits in my vest and just gets hosed down along with the rest of the equipment after exposure to salt water.

The MPU does double duty as a Kayaking knife as well - here a pic from this winter. Titanium dont mind sub-zero degrees.

Hi BladeScout... yes, i did eye the titanium models and it looks like you have a great couple of them to fill your adventure purposes! IMO, Mission knives are 'great looking... 'just wish there was more first hand-experience about the A2 models in this forum... thanks for the reply!

The biggest problem (used to be?)with Mission knives was company ethics and quality control. The knives themselves are great.
