i've been looking for a blade i can use in saltwater (not a spyderco) that's got some size and weight to it and a folder. i've been looking at the Mission knives, all titanium. anybody got any real experience w/using these knives hard use? I know the titanium isn't specifically known for the best edge, but i have heard they hold up well. Can anybody weigh in on this?

You'd be best off asking this question in the general discussion forum. Mission are production knives and this forum is for the discussion of custom knives.

Mission Titanium knives are spectacular knives. Will they cut as well as steel? No, they're Titanium. Are they tough as heck, get the job done and never rust... YES!!
I own a MPT and a MPF.

thx for the feedback. what do you use yours for primarily and which one do you have/prefer?

I consider MPK-S - A2 version on their titanium Navy Seal knife as best in this class.

It has excellent blade - wide, full flat grind.
It has one of the top steel for this applications - A2, very well heat treated.
It has TiN coating - while most has easy to scratch plastic.

It has best ever molded handle, very secure and comfortable, suitable as well for hammering nails if needed.

It has excellent safe sheath right with knife.

It is proven to be good knife for many-many years.

On my opinion this one is best.

While other have pretty noise and aggressive promotions etc. This one has almost nothing, this is why it is not as popular as some othe brands in this category, which honestly way far behind from Mission MPK-S.

Only concern is rough edge NIB, it need to be resharpened. But this is true for most knives from this category.

Thanks, Vassili.

Perko---The MPF was an edc. Not it's in resting. :D The MPT is my bush knife.

I have an MPF that resides in a collection display case.
Nice folding prybar. Will not cut anything for s--t. Takes
a good edge, but gets dull if ya look at it cross-eyed.

If you want something that cuts, I would get the Spyderco with the H1 blade.

one had too much blade play and i broke another. it was my fault, very rough, but i like the idea of having something w/a little more toughness. i've been carrying a CQC 15 mini and it takes a lot, great knife, but the upkeep in salt is a pain. i've been using some XF7 and militec to help avoid the corrosion, but i wanted something heavier than the salts.
