This blade will soon be offered for sale and therefore I thought it best to pose this question here. Spark, if I am incorrect, advise and this will be moved to the forum of your directive.
A friend of mine who is a LEO showed me a Mission "MPK" he has that has an OD (Olive Drab) Handle and matching Sheath. He wants to sell it and neither of us know what is it worth due to the following reasons:
1.) This knife was advised to him, by the dealer he purchased it from, to be "rare" because it was a "special run" of only 40, made exclusively for the United States Marine Corps. My friend advised he interviewed the owner of Mission Knives at the Shot Show who confirmed the dealers statement of its authenticity (Marine Corps Only) and rarity(number made). Can anyone here provide final confirmation of this fact?
2.) The blade and sheath have accessories to allow it to be carried in many ways, including scuba straps for maritime ops.
3.) The blade, and all of its accessories, is "new/unused" and still in the box. All of the accessories have never been mounted or removed from their plastic packaging inside the box. The blade has been extracted from the box for examination only.
If anyone might know more about this particular Mission Model and/or its worth, please advise.
Thanks!
Out.
