I picked up a Mission sharpener a week ago. The new owner, John Moore, happens to be the father of one of my colleagues so I had his son order it for me. I don't know what the retail is but I got mine for about $30.
The tool is definitely slick. It is comprised of a knurled plastic tube with a diamond coated titanium sharpening rod inside. To use you simply unscrew the rod using the knurled knob that sticks out about 1/2" and turn it around, then screw it back in to the handle.
The rod is fairly aggressive and will leave small scratches on your edge but it is great for a quick sharpening task. I quickly restored the edge on my SERE 2000 with just a couple of passes. On a large kitchen knife which was a bit more of a challenge due to the size, it took a little more time but the result was razor sharp.
The manufacturer recommends using this on their Ti knives and says that by using it on ferrous knives will ruin the nonmagnetic quality of the sharpener. I really don't care about that. I just wanted a handy pocket sharpening tool and that's what I got!
