Ok, this may be a silly questions, but here it goes. For those of you that have Mission Wallets do you leave your knife in there all the time?

I just got one for Christmas and am really liking it so far. I also got a small classic wood inlay Sebbie and a Fisher Space pen so it makes the perfect combo. I like the idea of having it all together and in place all the time so I can just grab one thing as I head out the door. My only concern is that I know many people say you should not store knives in leather sheaths because it can be damaging to them. What do you think about leaving a knife in the Mission Wallet, yay or nay???

Aloha; I have a Mission wallet also. I dont have a space pen in it, but I do keep my Buck/Mayo in it all the time. It fits perfectly.

slide13, the problem with storing knives in leather applies to high carbon fixed blades with the metal against the leather. This will hold moisture against the blade, corroding it.

Your Sebenza will be corrosion-free titanium against the leather, with a stainless steel blade folded within the titanium handle. wabi has the same materials with his Buck/Mayo. No problem! :D

Thanks guys, that was what I was hoping to hear. I wasn't sure if that applied only to carbon steel blades or all blades. Your right that it will mostly touch the Ti handles, but the spine of the blade and one other small part is still touched by the leather, but since it's stainless steel I'm guessing it won't be a problem.

It wasn't a problem for me when I carried my small Sebenza or now when I store my Umfaan in it.

I've gotten my Mission wallet wet a few times already. No effect on the knives. Did have some issue with the black dye tainting the cash. I'm carrying a small Lum Stalker in there, and it's been perfectly happy.

BTW Esav: Ti isn't corrosion-free. It's pre-corrosioned. ;)

What Ti forms is like a patina on high carbon steel, not something that eats into the blade.

Yes, it's not a continous oxidation reaction like iron's reaction with oxygen, it is, however, still a layer of oxidation.

I kept a Douk Douk in mine for a long time. Most of my knives add a lot of bulk. The Space Pen is a must, though.

They are a handy little item for sure. I never have the tainted cash problem though since the money is never in there long enough to develop it....:D

A fine accessory to have. Some cash, CCs, business cards, a Fisher telesoping pen and a DOZIER Folding Hunter (sometmes a CMG Infinity Ultra) sans clip and you' re good to go! No signs of corrosion or discoloring on the D2 steel thus far.;)

Well it doesn't hold a lot of cash but I'm a poor ass so thats not a fatcor to me anyway!

I've carried my BM Big Spender in there for over 6 months and no problems thus far.

BOK, that's a beautiful little knife, that would fit in just about anywhere. How has the mirror finish held up?

It's just about perfect actually. One small hairline scratch to date. The wallet is very easy on the handles.

The wallet was actually purchased specifically to carry the Big Spender and silver space pen combo.

Chromed out mission wallet!
