i got thicker ones this time.

the rims are about 1/8 inch. i like them.

I've brought the top rim of the crown to about even with the top of the head, so the clearance is about the same as before (with these "prouder" plugs).

these fat plugs might protect the handle for some really serious bad throws, on top of the handles' own resistance to shocks. By the time we find out for sure, we'll be along to some new Mark V variants anyways. we are moving fast here.


Lowes sells the chloroprene component individually, as do other hardware sources.

look for 1/2" diameter Well Nuts.

they are great for lots of things.


i also put a parkerized-black stainless washer on these latest plugs.

oh and don't worry about the looks of the plugs - they just have a protective white powder on them - they go jet black with a little use, and disappear in the hawk.

we call them BUG heads - they are modified Cold Steel Trail Hawks, which i really like stock condition - these are just some weight and function improvements.
