This morning I took a hike to the Mississippi. The route taken use to be an island until levees were made.

The hike starts by going over a bridge to the island. The river is low. I fish these waters a lot.

My destination is about two miles past the trees.

This is normally a water foul paradise. There is not much water left.

I need to replace my old 3 megapixel camera. Wildlife is usually to far away to get good pics.

Thanks Dbole. I took that knife in case I found some oyster mushrooms that are out of reach. Its easy to attach to a pole. I just didnt find any mushrooms.

nice Dbole
I have rigged my bushman bowie to a 3ft stick a couple times to clear devils club bushwacking. That evil plant will ruin your day quick.

Whenever I am by the rivers around here I love to see the wildlife. Last time I was at one of my favorite spots I saw two bucks in velvet. It is quite a ways from home, but is well worth the drive. (Well, only about an hour, but I have a lot of stuff closer)
