I just need to know what makes you a "knife collector" in missouri, i am trying to get out of a ticket i received for transporting a switch blade to my house. i really need to know this soon cause its a pretty big deal here to have a switchblade.

no felony convictions!!! and a receipt, if the blade was in the box!!! those are key points.... same thing happened to me when i lived in st. peters mo i just said it was a gift for my dad who is a cop.

Seems a bit silly to have such restrictive knife laws in all of these states that let you carry a pistol no problem, but that's another topic.

So what is the penalty in MO if you get caught with an automatic knife.

I don't think it's a felony but how expensive of a fine is it? If it's a misdemeanor is the fine $200 or $5000.

Well I did a bunch more research and it looks like getting caught with an automatic knife is a Class A misdemeanor in Missouri with a maximum penalty of $1000.
