I made what i call a bullnose skinner(name from the tks catalog) for a buddy of mine who got married this past weekend. I gave it to him at the reception..because i didnt want it to sit in the sheath til he got home from his honeymoon..well he was stoked ..he put it on and wore it around the reception hall with his tuxedo ..showing the thing off to anyone who would look at it..
Well i was glad he liked it so much,as it was a new pattern for me..but then the weirdest thing happened. one of the men from the brides family came up and said " i heard you were the knifemaker." I was a bit startled..me a knifemaker..not hardly i thought. but i admitted reluctantly that i had indeed built the knife in question. he started asking about price ,because he loved the knife so much and what my turnaround time was..and he wanted four of them for his sons...he was talking so fast, i was a bit confused..but then again that may have been because of the open bar
.
We got the details worked out and just like that im behind ..on ORDERS, for knives someone wants to pay me for..go figure..ill post a pic of the knife tomorrow.
