It was a great day out today and I decided
to take care of some maple tree limbs that were
crowding out the sun on my deck.

There were four limbs that needed to go... all about 3" to 4"
at the base with lots of brances on each.

Once they were down, my mistress made short work of the clean up.
She stripped the branches 5 or 6 at a time...
removed 1"+ thick branches is a single whack.
Chopping up the main limb into smaller sections,
she would take a really nice size bite with each thwock. :D

She seemed to love the playtime... and she's still shavin' sharp!

Here's a couple of pics... perched on top of her handy-work.

Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoy... I know she did. :D

Nice job with the BM..............I noticed your maples are not even turning color yet !

Looks more like fun than work  I am also curious if you got tired from swinging that Fatty. How long did it take?

My arms were already fatigued from the extension limb saw and 4 fat limbs. :o

But really... she did all the work, I just got her going in the right direction. :D
I had about an hour of swing time this go round...
and she definitely could have taken a lot more than I could have. :p :D

It was a tad warm today to be swingin that beat, Foo. Bet you worked up a bit of a lather.

And the Pats won. (Big surprise. LOL)

Oh, and I HATE those saws. Ugh. I almost died taking down a few 4-6" limbs on a coolish day during the summer. Feeeeellll the buuuurrrrrnnnnn.

Cool pix! :D:thumbup: ...Hard to tire out THAT Mistress, ain't it??? :p :D:D

Sweet  I have a fatty sitting on a shelf and that makes me want to get it some exercise. I had wondered about the fatigue of swining that beast for a prolonged session but it's such an awesome knife and I love the grind lines on it... I am bound to cave in an use it soon.

A little more on the weight of a fatty and using her...

No doubt at 32.5oz (if I recall correctly) she's a beast! :D Swinging 2 lbs for long, extended periods will tire most people. But I still think that everybody that's curious... should go out and use it. To me, the weight has some positives & some negatives... On the plus side, the weight really did do most of the work. Literally get her going in the right direction and let the weight do the work. On the other side… 2 lbs is A LOT to carry around all day.

My CG FBM is next up for some use and testing… I should have my Oku sheath for her shortly. :)
I might finish up the clean up with the CG… chop up what’s left into lengths for the wood stove.

One more thing... as for the FFBM you see here, as beautiful as she is, I’m planning on some changes.

I want to flatten out the spine, and adjust the clip point so it starts at the right place on the spine (same angle, but about an 1/8” removed). Thin the whole blade & tang down to .260”to .270” and give her a full height grind. From there… the Fusion handle does have a hot spot for me, so I’ll remove a little of the top hump in the tang just above the center tube fastener (again about 1/8”) to relax the shape of the curve. Some hand shaped black canvas with red spacers and some solid bolts, and then it will be what I feel is the perfect mistress… Kind of a combination of old and new… a cross between a SHBM and a FBM.

Foo, that sounds like some cool mods. Are you doing them? I can't wait to see it done!

I'm going to try to make the changes myself. :)
It's just finding the time to do it.

I did order one like this from the custom shop as well... but with tube fasteners.

Wonder which one will be done first. :D

Those modifications sound sweet! Can't wait to see progress and final pics. ;)
