Blackberry brambles are virtually impossible to kill - cutting, chopping, burning and even herbicides usually don't work - they just keep coming back. The brambles can grow at a rate of 1cm/day and can survive in pretty much any soil, any condition. Blackberry thickets are mostly dead brambles, where the live ones grow on top of the dead and use them to gain ground. The entire plant is thorny, even the leaves, so it is hard not to draw blood when messing with these things.
On the good side, the fruit is pretty tasty and the plant itself has many medicinal uses.
My mistress decided to help me take down some brambles - she laughed at all the thorns while I bled everytime they penetrated my leather gloves and thick jeans.
Some of the spawn we encountered...
She decided to treat herself to some lavender love after all the work was done!
