This is good info to know, I spent alot of time in bamboo jungles and never knew you could use the green bamboo to start a fire that quickly. Thanks Mistwalker and Hawkeye 5 for all this great info!

Interesting to say the least. Never heard of that. Perhaps its time to start cultivating my own bamboo crop.
It's a pretty cool trick if there is bamboo and a sunny spot handy, works really well and dries really quick in the sun.
Pay no heed to Ken, he was absolutely unimpressed with this the first time around when I did it. I don't sweat it...lol, he's a Canadian, I don't expect him to get my southern ways![]()
