There are no travelers in these lands, only servants of the dark tower...or the white.

Such are the laws of our land that merely to come hither unbidden and but gaze upon the forbidden pool of Henneth Annûn bears the penalty of death.

Another awesome post Brian! The maps came out great and the photo of the pool at Henneth Annûn is perfect. I feel like I just removed the blindfold or like an archer getting a bead on a strange creature swimming in the pool. And then there's the bacon and salt box! :D

Extraordinary!!....and a tip of the hat to you Sir!

;) I was surprised to not spot Gollum at the pool.

Bill

Yeah, I caught a glimpse of a small black critter, sort of like a squirrel with no tail maybe. It streaked out of sight before I could get a shot at it.

Awesome!!!!

Thank you sir, very glad you enjoyed the post!!

This is fun! Keep it coming...

No worries there, it's a pretty complex project. There is still another post to come from that last series of test shots in low light :)

Man is that pretty...

It's nice here, that's what makes it possible to cope with the insane county politics...

Love the pics and the title is from one of my FAVORITE bands of all time.

Thanks man, and yeah, mine too :)

Thanks Jim! I think the maps are going to work out ok, I sill have more work to do on them...and more to make, but getting there. I had to wrack my brain to remember where that pool was but of the ones here locally I think it fits best. Yeah, not bacon this time, but leftover ham from Christmas slide about 1/2 inch thick, but the lighting is a challenge to work with and it's hard to get good color and detail.

Just speechless. And...I'm never speechless.

Thank you Tony! Or... at least I am going to take it as this is one of those times I leave somebody speechless and it's actually a good thing :)

I love to be in the hills/woods at "dark 30" when the fog is low and there's water nearby. You captured that time perfectly in the last couple pics.

This might be a moot question however I have to ask it. What is the likelihood this body of work might one day show up in print?

Epic:

Thank you Nathan and Kermit. These are my favorite days to go hiking, and hence my forum name. Given to me in sarcasm by a friend in high school making reference to the number of times I skipped school in my junior and senior years to go hiking after looking out the window and seeing the tops of the mountains here shrouded in mist. I would just walk out to my truck and drive off. It was a pretty common joke among us. What was the school going to do, send a note home to my parents? I was 17 years old and had no parents for the last two years. I was at school to finish my education of my own free will, and so left there of it now and again as well, when I was caught up on my work and bored :)

Not moot at all really. The whole point of the project is for some of it to show up in print in a few different ways. That's why so many test shots are being done. So I can sort out the right backgrounds, accent pieces, and lighting for each of the scenes that will be printed. The final versions of these scenes will be shot in a cave with the stone wall as the background. For now I am sorting out the right accent pieces I want to pack in there. That walnut table will be heavy enough without me taking along things that won't even get used :)

Lol, thanks man. Hopefully the next shots of the pool will be taken in better light with a better camera, rather than in the pouring rain with a phone :)

Really nice photography and a perfect fit to the subject.

Thanks man, glad you like it :)

So epic!! The map pics are too cool!

Thanks Todd! This project is very dear to me personally, so I want to do it as well as I possibly can...hence all the various test shots :)

This is the one that really calls to me. Makes me want to wander into the shadows and see where this might lead me.

About a mile and a half down stream it goes under a highway. Then travels another quarter mile and becomes a very cool waterfall. Not the one pictured though. After that fall it winds its way to the river over a few other smaller falls down the side of the mountain, and then through bottom lands. I couldn't say how many spots along it I have sat in meditation over the years.

Fucking cool. I love the maps.
