Hey guys

I just recently bought a 2001 Mitsubishi Colt 1.3GL. Ive learned that it was sold as the Mirage in the US.

I have the 3-door hatchback that was made from 1996 to 2002 (i think).

Does anyone know where i can find a workshop repair manual for it? Ive already got the Mitsubishi service manual, but im looking for a how-to manual with instructions on how to fix the basics, such as brakes for example. A website with detailed instructions woud be just as good.

Unfortunately, i just cant afford the extremely high prices that mechanics charge. Im pretty apt at using my hands and got almost all the tools i need, but im not that experienced with cars other than regular maintenance.

There a pic of the car model in question.

Any help/input is appreciated.

Thanks guys.

probably dont want to hear this but the quality of those cars are pretty piss poor.. get used to working on it. try going to some mitsu online chat forums. i am sure they are out there

Check Haynes and Chilton, they should have repair manuals for them, the Chilton manuals are a little more in depth, they're usually sold at auto parts stores,I know Autozone carries one or the other.I'm not sure about online sales but I would think someone would sell them online.

Autozone also has basic repair manuals for free online for some models, you do have to register with them, registration is free but I don't know if the have the model your looking or or not.

My very first car was '98 Mirage. I still have a soft spot for that little beast. I thrashed that thing for a year and never got it services, all without a problem. Had to sell it to fund a trip overseas.

Pretty basic car I know for a fact that most of the car is identical to the base model Lancers of the same manufacturing year. You should be able to find a manual for a Lancer more easily than the Mirage.

You have to be referring to some specific US model, cause hatch Colts in Europe/UK are known for being boringly reliable. They rank all the way up there with the Corolla and the other small Japanese models, and are one of the models that hasve required least roadhelp. Every professional review ive read have praised the little Mitsubishi for its simple and reliable build. So im counting on what ive read :D

Haynes only have a manual for the pre-96 models. Thanks for the tip on Chiltons. Ill check them out ASAP.
