I had posted how I came to this knife in the other post (here).

I just got done rinsing it in oil to get all the gunk out and I must say, I'm very impressed with the quality of this knife. Don't have a lot of information yet (just started looking through different searches), but hope to have more information to share with you all.

The knife has a peculiar 45" degree stops (half of half stops 😁) on some of the tools, and one of the blade, that looks to be a hawkbill, stops at 90 degrees (won't open further as there is a physical notch that prevents it). the scissors are on the money in terms of feel and fit and all tools have nice snappiness to them.

It appears that the previous owner scribed his/her initials on the spring, main blade, and other small locations. Regardless, the knife is in fantastic shape and really happy to have purchased this at a bargain.

Please feel free to share any and all your knowledge of this knife!

The previous owner also scribed names/initials (PIB) on the knife in multiple locations. FYI 😁

Ok, some more pics. Sorry for the terrible quality but I was needing my privacy in my laundry room 😆

I love it...
Jigged Bone handles by the look.?..Japanese precision manufacture?
Whats the thing between the corkscrew and nail file tool...?

I run across Japanese-made, post-WWII camper knives that look a lot like that. Most of them are very cheaply cobbled together, but yours looks like it's better quality. The jigging on the bone is definitely better looking. Perhaps made later, after factory production recovered from the war?

Very cool, and yours definitely appears to be a step above.
These are a very common type of knife, but most of them seem to be extremely crude and of the lowest quality imaginable.

After doing some research (didn't find too much), some more information.

Evidently the company in Japan has been around since 1873. The knife I have could be from sometime between 1920's and 1970's (?)

There were some posts stating shoddy workman ship and feeling cheaper than the Chinese made knives of the past. At least, I don't 'feel' that the knife I have is shoddy in hand.

Will keep on researching! 😁
