Mixed feelings...

On the 10th Dec 2018 I sent a email to Benchmade to request to buy replacement pocket clips for my Adamas 275 which I bought from a eBay supplier. On the 11 Dec I received a reply to tell me that I just needed to give my shipping details and that Benchmade was going to ship the items for free. I was amazed by the gesture and also the speed they responded. However Early January 2019 I sent a new email to see where were the clips and I received no answer...I had to ask a few more times before I was told that they informed me on the 04.01.2019 that the clips were shipped out. I never received such email... A couple of weeks later I was given the tracking number and it clearly showed that the clips were shipped only on the 17.01.2019... I was rather disappointed... today is the 09.02.2019 and still no clips and I am sure it might arrive early next week more than two months from my first request...
I have ordered and purchased items from all over the world and never it has taken so long and clearly it is not USPS fault or any other P.O fault. I wanted to order and pay for the clips but these items are not for sale on Benchmade web site...it normally takes 15 to 18 days for my orders to arrive from anywhere in the US using USPS FIRST CLASS MAIL INTERNATIONAL service...Frustrating free clips...

Poor service for free I`d rather pay. Thanks.
 
yeah, imho, you essentially invalidated entire post as well as lost me at "and clearly it is not USPS fault or any other P.O fault"... simply call them and speak to a customer service rep explaining situation. they'll most certainly mail out another free clip...

I certainly do not need a free clip that takes two months to arrive even for free...
 
With respect and not trying to diminish the importance of the issue to you,

I've requested and received so many free clips, blade pivots and screws for free from Benchmade that the one time or two they didn't get them out to me right away wasn't a big deal to me. I just contacted them again and they sent them to me. They've even included catalogs for me when I didn't even ask for one. It's free stuff, man. Sometimes the request might get lost in the shuffle. They will get the clips to you. On rare occasion, you might have to be persistent.

My point is that if I had paid for the clips like I wanted to in the first place it would have arrived within 3 weeks with Registered tracking and not over two months, as order has not arrived yet.
 
You're complaining about "Poor service for free"? Read that and think about how that sounds?

I understand you are frustrated that it is taking a long time, but the only cost to you is patience. It's a nice gesture on Benchmade's part, but I'm betting the priority of shipping out Free clips is towards the bottom.
 
I’ve used the BM free service many many times over the years and have found calling them directly is the easiest and most efficient way to get parts that you need. Sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience, and I get your frustration in waiting, but I’ve had much worse mailing and fulfillment issues with “paid for” items in comparison. Like others have said, this is probably not all their fault and was a free service after all. I wouldn’t expect you to have similar problems in the future.
 
I ordered a couple clips between Christmas and New Year without thinking how busy things can be around that time. I got my clips in late January after some back and forth with the Benchmade rep over e-mail. It wasn’t an issue. I didn’t need the clips and I know their reps deal with bigger things than pocket clips.

Also the I asked for a mini grip deep carry clip and Adamas deep carry, both black anodized. Of it two standard sized deep carry clips which don’t fit the Adamas.

Am I bummed? No
Disappointed? No

The clips are free. Just order another one. Plus I don’t think ordering two weeks before Christmas was the OPs best move either

I have well over a dozen top class Benchmade bought over the years from ebay sellers. If that is not big enough for their attention then I have no time to waste. Read my email I am not asking for charity or favours but requested to buy the genuine Benchmade clip instead of a compatible clip from ebay. Two months and two weeks and still nothing. They promised to ship a second order but up to now they have been very busy...

I wasn’t saying that customer care isn’t important, I was saying there are other customers with bigger issues than me and my clips. I’m sorry you had a bad experience, but these things happen once in a while. Every time I’ve dealt with Benchmades customer service has been a positive experience. They’ve always been cordial to me, even if they make a mistake. They’re human beings too so mistakes happen.

The 2nd is saying you have such experience with postal services to know that they didn't screw up is laughable to me as my job we mail out daily and receive so much mail daily the delays can be absurd. We have even had postal workers who are also customers state they won't rely on the postal service because they know how bad it is. For an example of how bad a postal service can screw up in 2017 we received a piece of returned mail that was mailed in 2013.
 
You're upset we get it. Just wanted to say that 99% of every other company does not give out free hardware(clips,screws and etc..) in my whole hearted opinion just be thankful that they're willing and if it doesn't happen the first time... Try again.

I am from Mauritius and I have ordered at least a 150 times from USA using USPS FIRST CLASS MAIL INTERNATIONAL. That is a very good service because I have received all orders +/- 3 weeks from date of shipping out. These have tracking starting with R and one can track the order up to the time it arrives to the destination. This time the tracking started with UA and from what I understand it only tracks up to JAMAICA USPS terminal in NY. After that no tracking at all. It has been two months and 2 weeks since I first contacted BM...and at least a dozen emails, I have proposed to pay extra shipping, I have proposed to buy the clips from a reseller, I have proposed to pay for the clips and each and everytime the answers to my proposals was no we don't do that... That is where I stand now. I am still trying to get genuine BM clips can anyone out there help. Thanks. At some stage I was told it took longer because I was from RUSSIA....I gave them my Physical address twice and I am not from Russia but Mauritius.....that could explain why I never received the clips in the first place who knows?

I get that you offered to pay but the fact is you didn't pay so go read my point #1. You say your experience to this point with USPS First Class Mail International has had predicable timely results and in my point #2 I am telling you that USPS screws up and gave you an extreme example of how bad it can be as well words from people who work for the postal service and their faith in it to illustrate your experience does not mean that USPS in infallible.
 
Have you tried starting a new request through the Benchmade website? Sometimes starting fresh is the answer.
Yes and the response was not so concerned...we are very busy, we will take care of you whenever we can...that is why I did not want free clips in the first place. I am now facing a situation where I have no choice but to probably wait another two months for a total of 4 months for free clips. You be the judge.
