MK1 sheath

I was given this knife by a good friend and the sheath has me a bit puzzled maybe someone can shed some light on it. For some reason it I can't load the picture but it's a leather sheath with a metal backing plate. I know it's not the original sheath.

I just stumbled on the answer. Somehow my ka-bar ended up matted with a Ontario knife company 499 air force survival knife sheath. Well it seems to work fine and I personally much prefer the leather to the original kydex sheath the knife came with.
