I love the kabar design and especially the stacked leather handles. I was wondering if there was such a version of this knife without USMC/USN/ARMY stamp? I ask because I am not military and would prefer not to misrepresent myself.

I know the kraton versions are marked USA. The standard issue ones from ontario are unmarked as well, though the fit and finish on the ontarios are crude.

The U.S. Governments specifications for how the knives where to be marked was changed in the late 1950's, to exclude any markings referring to a specific branch of service. The fact is that no 1219C2 pattern knife has been made for a U.S. Government contract with a branch of service marking on it since WW2 production. All of the knives made since then with branch of service markings would be pieces sold on the commercial market and generally considered commemorative. Certainly many service personal have gotten and carried such pieces over the years but they are usually considered personal purchase items.
