Mk3 Mod 0 aftermarket mod?

Hey guys. So, a good 20-30 years back, my grandpa was gifted a mk3 mod 0 diving knife from his other Navy buddy. He had been a Heli pilot who had flown missions with the SEALs and had apparently traded one off one of them or something. Anyway, do any of you know much about it? I also think it's been modified, it has a partial flat/hollow grind and a bowie point with swedge. Are any knives stock like this or is it a specialty job?

There are a couple different blade variations. Some pommel variations also. original blade had more upsweep to a very fine point. second variation in blades had less sweep to give the point more strength. I have heard that early models had a brass(?) pommel. Got a picture?

If you want to know about value then let me give you a little tip. The value of that knife grows larger and larger based on how much detail you can provide about this missions your grandfather flew, where he was stationed, did he see combat, etc. etc. etc.

The knife could potentially sell for a fortune if you can put together an honest and interesting narrative about the knife and how it related to your Grandfather.
