Didn't see a thread on this knife but it's certainly an interesting piece for the money. M390, Ti Framelock on bearings but is that real CF? I received mine today and did an unboxing and first impressions video. I mention in the video I was unsure of the CF and turns out my suspicions were correct. Not real CF. G10 laminate with CF similar to Spyderco and Ganzo. For $250 it's a good value considering the steel, materials and fit and finish. Not a huge fan of the mismatched color scheme or the laminate CF, but it has great ergo's and reminds me A LOT of a Hinderer MP1, which is a good thing.

Is it a free spinning pivot or is it restrained? I've had issues with CKF knives with unrestrained pivots.. no matter how I loctite it, they loosen up after days of use.

My major beef with this new MKAD line (something I forgot to address in the most recent episode of the Knife Nuts Podcast) is that the price is basically in line with what CKF sells their "premium" knives for when they have those ridiculous 40% off sales. At this point I refuse to buy a CKF at retail price knowing that if you wait, they will discount the knife absurdly a few months later. Letting the public see how much flexibility you have with your profit margins is not a great idea I think.

Also $250 for laminate CF is a little ridiculous, but then again this price is probably inflated by about 50% from what they could be selling it at.

It came loose and I applied some locktite, I'll let you know if it works loose again

See I've think I've only owned one other CKF and it was the Daboia which I got second hand(or third hand :)). Had I known that they blow then out like that I would have waited. Oh well I guess I'll take the bath on this one for the greater good! At least Spyderco is somewhat upfront that their CF is laminate, CKF has this listed as CF which it's not. Other than that it seems well made and has a smooth action with good ergos and great blade steel. At $150-200 I think it would be doable. Though I'm also not a huge fan of the blue thumbstud and backspacer with the red CF laminate. I do have a Gavko/CKF Spinner arriving this week also.

I think the sweet spot for knives with M390 blades is around $200, in competition with Viper and possibly a few others. Once you hit more than $240, you're in direct competition with the ZT offerings.

Well well well, apparenlty CKF either read this thread or watched my video as they have now changed the description of the knife to red, black or blue g10, removing the CF. Interesting.

I was considering one of these myself. In blue. Apparently they did not make very many because when I checked the website said they are out of stock. Bummer.

i see no intrest in this knife at all. and for the price, its crazy.
i mean ZT can offer carbon fiber and titanium bb flippers for $240 but this is G10 with carbon composite overlay (not even full carbon fiber, the red and wire are different materials all together) for $250, made in china. no thanks.

the look does not scream buy me.

ckf are banking on Hype to sell them imho. they hyped up the CKF budget line. the design and materials are luke warm.
