Hi!

I am still looking for a camping and outdoor knife. Don't ask me why but I somehow didn't really like the ergo handles. The AD has an almost perfect handle design and I like it very much. However there is no larger (NO-sized) knife in the Busse line with an AD-style handle. Therefore I have been playing with the CAD system at University again. I have to admit it does not really have a straight handle ... but believe me - the handle of the cardboard-prototype is a dream.

Is it an AD on steroids? No, it's the MKETE'MKO.

Come on, you should speak Potowatami by now. :D

The approximate dimensions are:
- total length: 11-3/8''
- blade length: 6''
- cutting edge: 5-5/8''
- blade height: 1-5/8''
- handle length (center 'Busse' hole to center talon hole): 4-5/8''

Here we go ...

I have already asked marc@bussecombat.com to give me a ballpark on the cost. :D

Why don't you save a lot of money and time and just get a SH SH? A bit bigger than the NO,but not that much. VERY nice blades. I like the NO size also, and feel the same about the ergos at least on the larger blades.

@Wet: I will just wait for Marc's answer. And then I have to decide ... the 'problem' is I really like the handle of the 'BLACK BEAR' ...

@SpearHead: I guess you have the same online source than I do ... all I could offer as a prize is a beer (or two) in case you ever happen to come to Germany ... ( once this 'Schroeder-era' is over ... )
Jerry, same for you, of course ... as your answer almost coincided with SpearHead's ... :D

Bier?!? Now you're talkin' Mark. I like Schoeferhoffer Hefeweizen mit lemon. Ich mochte eine heisse fraulein mit eis, bitte... oops.:o Enschuligensie bitte... I got a little excited about the weizenbier thing. Had a flashback.

Anyway, if I get overthere again, we'll arrange a link up. Have that rack chilled for me would you...

...you'll have to get some pils or export for Jerry... he doesn't really like bier... And a bock or a Pirminator might kill him... :D

SpearHead, you're welcome!:D

Concerning 'soft-drinks' for a certain knife maker ... I'll see to that.

To be honest with you I am very concerned about a postural deformity resulting from a 'BLACK BEAR'-made-out-of -1/2''-or-3/8''-stock's weight ...

Call me a fly weight but I thought about 7/32''(5,55mm) stock ... :o

But I have heard stories so good about the BM-light's performance ... I simply could not resist. :) Made me opt for 7/32'' stock for slicing reasons.

Thanks Scott for the comparison ... I like that AD style handle better. I will just wait for an answer from Busse ...

Are the dims the same? The way you integrated the pic into my post somehow make it look like that way ...

Thanks.

No, I haven't. But Shaggi put me down for one Desert AB :D ...

So I should be able to tell whether I like its handle or not ... in two weeks or so ...
