MKT Marauder - Harsey - Help!!!!

If I had to sell one I'd would probably let the Marauder go. They are nice, but honestly both fill the same roll edc wise. The Harsey is just easier and lighter to carry. My two favorite nicer "working" knives to carry are my Harsey 3.25 and my Inkosi..

For some reason I have developed a small addiction to 3.75 and 4" blades. My PM2 feels small to me now. Ya, I like the Harsey. But there is some kind of strange "aura" surrounding the Medfords. Not sure what it is. But although they are chunky, overly expensive, one can easily sense how well they are built, it just exudes.

Nope, the Medford is much thinner & lighter, and has a much thinner blade, plus the thin hollow grind.

Oops, I stand corrected - I thought that was a Slim Midi, but see is is a .187 Marauder H.

The Marauder is a beast. Way too much titanium. You could run it over with a Mac truck and not disturb it. My stupid ego like the Marauder. But you guys are right of course, the Harsey is a bit more refined and easy to use.

Try mic'ing that Marauder behind the edge - you will likely find it under 15 thousandths. They cut like CRAZY.

Have both knives and would not sell either. If for some reason I had to sell one I’d move the Spartan. Their are other knives out their similar to the Spartan but there is nothing like the marauder h.

I know perfectly well that Medfords need to be broken in. But the Marauder is absolutely idiotically designed in terms of opening. I dont know about you and yours, but the slightest pressure on the lockbar and the knife will not open. One needs to open the knife at the very bottom of the thumbslot, not near the top. What was Medford thinking? I see why people are going crazy over Demko's sharklock! I am returning my Marauder because of the terrible design for opening the knife. I don't know, maybe it just needs more breaking in. But I like to be able to deploy my knife without the slightest concern or thought. Any feedback?

Had 2 marauder h sold 1. Both came fairly easy to open from factory. Little nano oil on the pivot enhanced and improved the action. Make sure to wipe off oil from lock bar to avoid stick.
Have a praetorian t and 3/4ar that were very stiff. Ended up loosening the pivot an 1/8 of a turn. Night and day difference. Blade is still dead center with no play or rock. I think some of their knives come a little over torqued. Can always tighten in the future.

Thank you!

I used to buy a few knives here and there as a sort of investment. Atleast that's what I told myself. Really I just really wanted them and at that particular time I was in my 20's and moved back in with my parents for a bit due to life events, was working full time and didn't have any bills except for a cell phone, so I felt good financially. However I almost always regretted not using them. If you look at a Sebenza for example, you can sell a well taken care for used one for not too much less than a mint one. Now days I try to keep that in mind and enjoy what I own to the fullest.
