Here is one I forged for an order this week..
A short Skinner with a false edge.
Osage was cut from a tree that was cut in the 80's...really nice wood.
Thanks for looking.

That knife looks like it will skin very well. I like the rough steel on the spine. But I would like to see more tapper on the tang that would add to the overall look of the knife.

That's a fine looking knife. I bet it would be good for more than skinning.

The osage orange looks great with all those colours.

Thank you Guys... I really appreciate that. This was made for a customer per customers Sketch and information...Its a dandy stout piece with a great cutting edge. I wish it was mine. I sure would like to have it this deer season... Thanks again

Ya, forged tapered tang would be elegant visually, but this knife probably benefits from the slightly greater mass in the handle. The blade is thick enough forward to suggest great utility as a wood working tool using a baton on the spine. Multi-function camp tool for spliting kindling and making traps, etc. The knife looks well made. The wood is well done, I have used Osage Orange myself and it tends to have a lot of hidden resin streaks and flaws; these are nice.

That's a fine skinner from a fine skinner design. Obviously the customer knows his way around large game carcasses as it's shape is suitable for gutting/slicing, looks heavy/stout enough to brake bone and looks comfortable in hand. What else could you ask for in a skinner.

Thank you again for everything. This knife does have a nice feel to it, and the gent it's going to I'm sure will be very pleased with it. Osage is one of my favorites as well as Tiger Maple..But who could llive without stag? Guess I like em all!
Thanks again
