the other day i was watching a mixed martial arts fight on pay per view and one of the sponsors to one of the fighters was Benchmade..this style of fighting is GROWING so big now..i was wondering if the great folks at Spyderco would be interested in doing something similar?

Benchmade sponsors guys from the Team Quest fight club in Portland, which is local to Benchmade in Oregon City. I don't know if there are any such high level MMA camps in Spyderco's area. Sponsoring guys who fight on PPVs like Randy Couture, Chris Leben and Nate Quarry gives Benchmade exposure to (potentially) hundreds of thousand of viewers (though with Dana White's recent decree that fighters can't thank sponsors after fights, one wonders if it still gets the same return because people who don't know Benchmade may not notice or recognize a BM logo on the back of someone's shorts).

ha ha ha ha! I was wondering about that advert. I was sitting with a group of friends whatching the UFC when I mentioned that Benchmade are knifes. They all thought I was nuts.

The group I was with all pro MMA fighters . So they better get a grip (no pun intended) on sponsors.

I was watching UFC a few months ago with a group of friends from jiu-jitsu class when I first noticed one of the fighters had the Benchmade logo on his butt. I screamed, "Hey! He's sponsored by Benchmade!" They all looked at me like "what the F is Benchmade?"
