i just purchased a mmhw khuk,can anyone tell me more about this knife and if i made a good decision for a heavy duty chopper? thanks

The problem with knives of that style is that the low sabre grind means the knife hits full thickness quickly, this leaves to excessive wedging on thick wood chopping.

You get better performance in terms of smoothness of cut and penetration with high flat or convex grinds like this one (second from the top) :

yea thats the knife. is there any way of reprofiling the blade to make it a better cutter?

You can always adjust the profile to improve the cutting performance. On that blade since the primary grind is so shallow it would take a lot of work on a belt sander because you need to hit the primary grind.
