Just got a new BK9... I have never owned anything Ka-Bar or Becker, so this is a first for me. I currently have a beefcake Grayman that I have been using and have loved every minute of it. (I camp, hike and mountain bike a lot.) After joining Blade Forums recently and dicking around in different areas, I have acquired a few new knives I normally would not have bought if it were not for all the chit chat about them... Anyways, I like the BK9 so far. It is very light compared to the 1/4" thick Grayman... I will say that the sheath is complete garbage though... I'll see how it goes!

Congrats on the BK9, beat the snot out of it!!

The sheath is not the greatest, but it does it's job and keeps the overall cost down.

I think the 9 is a great overall knife for what we've got around here. I just got me a 7 though so we'll see how that one goes some time. But I do like the 9 for a general camp knife.

It is a good knife. Use it well. :D The sheath is, well, OK. Most people around here like to buy and or create add ons for the Becker knives. You should look into that.

I use my BK-09 quite a bit. I have cut, batonned, chopped a LOT of wood with it. It's a solid piece of steel/technology that will serve you well. I don't mind the sheeth much as I carry it in my backpack while in the bush and not on my hip/leg. You will enjoy it greatly. Happy cutting....

Great purchase - we like pics of dirty Beckers. Just sayin'. :D

The stock sheath is functional and that's about it. You can reduce the rattle but inserting some strips of old inner tubes and so forth and it will serve well enough. Well enough until you upgrade to leather or kydex, that is.

Just got back. I was in the south sound on the beach. :D The knife didn't get much use, as I ended up spending a lot of the time kayaking through the shoals on the incredibly low tide yesterday. It was pretty cool. I did chop some wood for the fire, and it was excellent! So far, this is a great knife!

NO pix!?!?! I can't believe it.

When you do get a chance to really use it you'll see why it's so fregin awesome.
