this pic was taken last march i think since the coating looks brand new. anyway, i was drinking with my friends in the backyard and next thing i know...my knives came out and i started hacking away at every 2x4 i could find to show them how tough beckers are :D

beckers_bourbon.jpg

yeah, every time i drink i now have the urge to play with knives and fire :p

that ka-bar short tanto was my very first ka-bar and high quality knife by the way. before that i was just using $15 gerber folders for opening boxes and stuff...and i was really into guns so didn't really pay much attention to knives. i really liked the fit and finish of the knife and the awesome sheath that i figured since they made the beckers too that it would have the same quality...next thing i know a becker was being delivered seemingly weekly and i couldn't be happier

fast forward to about 3 weeks ago when i got my maker's mark barrel certificate. sweetness!

Well, I was lookin' for a pic, but I don't have one. That will need to be rectified.

Jack Daniels Old No. 7, neat, with a Coke back.

I have drank quite a few different whiskeys, and many other liquors, but if I had all the money in the world, I would still drink Jack.

Made in Tennessee, just like me. What's not to love.

Becker BK2. I just felt like saying that.

Mmmm.... bourbon. I wanna' play.
Was just sipping some Buffalo Trace to *ahem* clear the pipes. ;)
Here's four nice ones. All untapped, but not for long...

Jack is an interesting character.

I've tasted all kinds of scotch (including a very nice pricey Bruichladdich, and it talks well to my Scottish blood. the booze, not the price.) , whiskey to whisky, bourbons... Makers is easy to pick up and it makes me content. Jack is a wonderfully rough n' tough somabich and I'd never turn it down.

I'm going to go get some makers now.

The Glenlivet for me, although the best I ever had was a bottle of scotch my stepmom's dad opened up one night. Pulled a box out of the cupboard and blew the dust off it. Opened it up and there was a 30 year old bottle of some incredible scotch in there. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of it, and I think he said it didn't matter because they didn't make it anymore. Still, that was the thing that got me liking scotch.

Congrats on your barrel!
The next pic ain't Becker, but it is carbon steel, and it is relevant to your pyromaniac and alcoholic urges. :D

Makers Mark is how I learned to drink whiskey. Now it's too sweet for me, but it makes a SLAMMIN' Manhattan if you need a cocktail.

i gotta try a turkey soon. someone from this forum recommended knob creek and i liked it too. about lisa - so you do come home from time to time? i figured with the amount of hiking pics you post, you have a satellite dish on your backpack and stay out there in the woods 24/7 :D

that bk2 came out of nowhere..haha. after reading your thread and willworship's threads on stripping the coating off, i think i'm gonna do the same for my bk-2 this weekend...hmmm.

sweetness! i think i'm gonna have to join moose and try to raid your house. i'll let him carry off the beckers and while i help myself with those bottles.

glenlivet nadura, 120 proof scotch goodness

i had my glenlivet 12 phase...got sick and tired of trying to order it at a bar though and the bar tender couldn't hear exactly what i was asking for so had to switch to something a little more "generic"...they would say, "a glen what?" over the loud music...sigh.

in my 20's i used to drink jack daniels straight but somehow i'm in my early 30s and my throat just got insanely sensitive to it. man, a jack will put chest hair even on a sasquatch!

after my chugging jack daniels younger days i switched to a more slower pace of sipping first with the glenlivet 12 when i reached my late 20s. i felt more mature & grown up :D

nice! i'm happy it's now winter here so i don't look like a weirdo to my neighbors while i'm drinking and playing with a bonfire in the backyard while it's an 85 deg summer night :o

interesting. i have to try other whiskies then to notice the too sweetness. funny you mention it since i usually drink a diet pepsi and when i drink a regular one it's too sweet for me. i haven't noticed it with the maker's mark.

Wild Turkey (90pf) will show you the difference quickly - it's rough in a good way.
Knob Creek... well, that puppy requires an ice cube - it's REALLY strong, but special.

Basil Hayden & Buffalo Trace about split the difference.

I can't stomach JD. Jack & Coke in particular makes my teeth feel furry, but once I passed 20 I stopped polluting my liquor. JD makes an EXCELLENT marinade, however!
Mmmmmm bourbon (ok, TN Sour Mash) salmon....

Oh, uh... BK-11. (to stay on topic)

Ok, I remedied the no pic problem last night.

Jack Daniels, and BK2, Moose style mods, stripped and jimped.

I don't like to be in the woods without a good GIN & TONIC. Something about it... refreshing! :) I love it on a cool night while listening to the wind blowing through the trees and studying the stars! Oh and by a fire! That's the make up of a great night for me !
