hello people, I am tipping back a brew and I cant help but think that the cantina is pretty quiet. im slightly buzzing here and just curious what brews yall like. For me at the moment, im nursing a black and tan..... ;)

Fat Tire for me at the moment. When I lived in Greensboro, NC, I drank Natty Greene's Old Town brown ale, cause it was local and awesome. Since there are no good local brews and most of the folks around here prefer Bud Light or some other such swill, Fat Tire is the absolute best I can do.

i'm tipping back an aztec chocolate style brew... yummy. the original fermented chocolate. "dogfish head theobroma"

later, i might tip back something that is based on a 9000 year old recipe. NICE! apparently brewed in china, Jiahu region, based on rice, hawthorn fruit, grapes, and honey. not really a beer, more like a mead. "dogfish head chateau jiahu"

earlier this year, i also had something called "sikaru", early mesopotamian recipe.

lately, for beer beer, i like southern tier's "hop stupid". a delightly rich hoppy beer with strong citrus notes. it's awesome.

I like Dogfish Head's stuff. Their brown's excellent. My all-time favorite brown is Smuttynose's Old Brown Dog. Best one I've tried so far.

Got 4 more days for the batch I bottled Sunday to "bottle condition" (read naturally carbonate) 5 gallons of Hefeweizen.
Depending on season; Guinness (draft:thumbup:, sucks from bottles or cans, too much equipment to have on draft at home) , next up Bell's Oberon, Sam Adam's Coastal Wheat, Young's Double Chocolate Stout (great on draft, passable from a bottle sucks in the can), Sierra Nevada IPA (my next batch is gonna be a clone of this), various Oatmeal Stouts. Regional Hudepohl (Hudy Delight, cans only please). Hoffbrau Haus Dunkel or Warsteiner Dark.
Down and out need a cold softdrink after cutting the lawn or a session with my HI Khuk's on the wood pile usually Miller Highlife Light (bottles, skip the cans).
Spaten (sentimental because we killed a keg at the dinner after the rehearsal for my wedding) Warsteiner Regular, (1st beer as a married man cracked it open in the Limo leaving the church)
Yeah that's the short list:p

have you tried dogfish heads Midas touch? that seems like something up your alley if youre interested in unusual brews.

glamdrig2000, correction I home brew mainly extract recipes;) Whole grain(micro) brewing is just too much equipment to get into. 1 big pot and a few 5 gallon buckets is all you need to home brew. Not counting time a gallon of home brew costs me about $10 I could go cheaper but I spend about $7 more per batch on WhiteLabs live/active yeast.
I made a 7% beer last year that took 6 months to calm down:eek:

I think I donated my ID to the river gods two weeks ago... it's been a dry two weeks. That's OK though, I have to focus on school... I'm swamped right now  gotta make my tuition worthwhile while I still have the motivation to.

Dos Equis goes down very nicely with Chinese food. (That's about the only time I drink beer, actually.)

Bitburger here, developed a taste while stationed in Germany...also Duval, found that through a friend of mine (not for the timid, and forget climbing into a car after more than a couple), been a Fosters fan since you needed a 'key' to get into one ('78). Wife turned me onto Fat Tire (easier to find than the other two), and some of the other brews they make. I don't get much of a chance to sample stuff anymore.

My favorites: Always like Guiness Extra Stout (not Draught), Anchor Liberty Ale and any good IPA (:thumbup:dogfishead).

I've sampled many over the years and developed quite a liking for Singha. Also had fun with a friend of mine years ago with one of the German "ators"-I think it was Ecu 28.

I've been loving Lagunitas' offerings lately. Their IPA has been my go-to for the past few months, but their Maximus is incredible, as well.

If i can afford it at the time, I love Pissing Boy (Blanche du Bruxelles) and Tripel Karmeliet. Although I've also been known to throw back a few Hoegarden's as well (especially when they're $2 a pint at my favorite bar).
