Chocolate Swirl acrylic Pemberton.

I contend that in 1873 Levi Strauss had a dream of the future. In the dream he saw a GEC Pemberton knife and was inspired to put a small watch knife pocket on his denim "waist overalls".

I don't have a Pemberton yet. I need to pick one up.

Sweet looking Pemberton!

Very nice, Rob!

PS- I had to buy a Chunky Bar after seeing this yesterday...

Sweet pic. :D

So that's where it went. I guess I waited too long to get it :(

Nice!

I will have to do some research, I am not familiar with Pemberton.

Thanks for the picture!

I'd always like natural materials of all sorts, delrin, micarta for synthetics, but never really considered acrylics. It's not that I didn't like them, but never really considered them. Many of the ones I'd seen when first learning about traditionals looked like colourful vomit to me. But GEC does beautiful acrylics, and it's making me appreciate other makers acrylics as well. I need to get me some acrylics soon I think. That and a break from the ebony and black delrin I've been buying. Not that I aimed for an all black/gothic looking collection or anything:) But ebony wood is classic and beautiful on traditionals, and I wanted the black delrin Bullnose a tad bit more than I wanted the orange. Although I still want an orange one:)

But now I feel the need for some colourful handle scales to brighten up the collection. But I could see a place for a chocolate one like that. GEC really knows how to make a non-vomit looking acrylic.

I avoided acrylics because I wrongfully associated them with the cheap plastic handled knives of my youth. Also, from the age of 12 to 36, the only knives I carried were Swiss Army knives, and so I took a break from the plastic handles as I got into other traditional patterns. But GECs acrylic is unlike any of those. It feels "warm" to the touch. Feels solid. I am curious to see how it looks when aged with use.

Well, before this thread I had a full wallet...
I have a feeling $80 may be missing soon :)

But seriously, that there is a beautiful knife. Me thinks me wants one. :D
