Mmmm, the bk-5 sure is sexy

New patina. Thank panzer for the tip. I used cracked black pepper sauce since it included mustard, vinegar, and citric acid, all which make a cool patina effect. Wrapped in a paper towel but instead of just a dot pattern which you usually get, i added small folds along the blade to give a different effect.

holy crap and i thought a bk2 was fat. this thing is .277" thick! The bk5 is still the better all around tho and with its new patina its something damn sexy

Looks great! No more Fisk stripe on there? :D

I'm fairly certain the 5 will be my next Becker. I've been flip-flopping between the 5 and 7, but I'm a chef at heart, so that blade profile calls out to me.

No i love the stripe, and i missed it as soon as i stripped it. I even said to myself "this patina better turn out awesome or im gonna be pissed" and it turned out ama-za-zing
 
That's it, I'm gonna strip my BK-7 right now. That's what you get for posting those sexy pictures on the internet.

You should try a fisk stripe patina some day.
 
the fisk stripe will be back as soon as you resharpen it.
totally cool would be contrasting patina patterns separated by the stripe.
just sayin'...
 
It does look good man. You can buy another BK5 and put the stripe on that one...
 
The more and more I see the 5 the more it interests me. I know I will break down and get one eventually. All the pictures aren't helping!

You can't beat two legends coming together. Becker and Fisk. Its the stuff legends are made of. That and the bk10 are my favorites and for good reason.
