id do unspeakable things for some 440c clb designs...id pay 70 for a 440c plain edge subcom (or variant) with a fancy handle slab, and im sure im not the only one.

Yeah, that I do...however, I wish sometimes that "some folks" would listen to MY say sometimes. For example, about 6 years ago, I had a "Hamon" aka "Japanese Waterline" on one of my designs, preferably made of a durable coat, and not to mention adding to the overall look of the knife. I proposed this to a certain company and they said nothing about it...
NOW Kershaw has some knives out with a "Hamon" and some kinda design along the blade edge...
*sigh*.
