My wife and I had a great 4 days in the Northlands of MN.... accompanied by some Busse knives of course!

My BAD.... I carry this daily and just love it for its usefulness! Super knife!

Nice pics man. I haven't been camping in so long, I really want to go.
I love that heavy heart as well.

Nice pics! Just out of curiosity, where is that?
The GF and I just camped for 5 days in Jay Cooke just south of Duluth.

4 days in the woods with good knives and a good lady, how much better could it get?

How was Jay Cooke? We went WAY past there.... we were south and west of Ely about 15 miles. Really nice and very clean (toilets etc) park. Bear Head Lk State Park.

We'd go to this one again... it was a 4 hour drive from Andover area though!

Ya know... you guys kill me. I got SRKW M6 recently and knew it would be the last fixed blade knife I'd need/get... until I look around this place and drool over all the sick knives. I love those hearts. I think there's an ASH or skinny ash in my future.

Cool, thanks for the pictures.

If it's not sabre ground, is it still a Heavy Heart? Is any FSH ground to .27" a Heavy Heart?

Way to go Jon!!! Great pics, Beautiful Blades and good times. Now that's living when you can get what the HEART desires.

Back atcha Bro!!!

Right on!! I just love that knife! It feels so SOLID... and tough!! Now I might need to score a matching BAD so I can give my Black Handled one to the wifey! She kept "losing" her cooking knife this trip...... just wanted to use my BAD!!

Great pics Jon.

That's where I brought my wife for her introduction to canoe camping, it's a great park.

Good to see some Infi up there.

Thanks for sharing.

Jay Cooke is my favorite out of all of the parks I've been to. It's very beautiful. They have a swinging bridge that crosses the St Louis river and it's one of the best views in MN. There is also Silver Creek (you can camp right on it) that is a state managed trout stream.

Closer to your area is Mille Lacs Kathio. They have a campsite on Black Bass lake where you have the whole lake (the whole southern half of the park actually) to yourself. :)

Yep, been there a few times.

I've only stayed at the canoe or walk in in sites but I've hike the whole park. Great place, I think my wife enjoyed the Ely shopping experience more then the camping at that time but she's coming around.

They have a really nice canoe in only site that is completely off the trail system, at least it was 8 years ago. Less then a mile paddle from the landing and even has a big steel box anchored to cement for safe storage. Decent Walleye fishing as well.

In the 1900's they had a saw mill on the south end of the lake, if your able to be on the water and you look down you can see some of the remains of it in the lake on the south end. I thought it was pretty cool.:)

Have a good one.
