Well as promised, here are some pics from the family vacation. We had a blast and I feel very fortunate to be able to see my Uncle. He is a retired USMC Major and two time purple heart receipeant from being shot down in helos in Vietnam. He flew everything from jets like the Phantom 4 to huey's and everything in between. He wrote a book that he doenst wish to be published until he passes on and it truely is amazing. I feel very blessed to be able to sit down with him and pick his brain about things I was too young to understand the last time we saw each other.
Anyways here are some pics.

And we had to stop by Cabellas on the way home. We scored on a 3 season Alaskan Guide 6 person tent that was 20% off.

Excellent pictures ,sounds like a fun Trip... I like the Folder you pack as well,I own a pair of Gerber Gators.....

Great photos! Tell me more about the plane....

looks to me like an old Cubbie, I've flown in five or six. They make for awesome outback aviation, alot of people have them here in Idaho and do weekend trips to places that cars can't go. Low maintenance, inexpensive, but not exactly high performance. Real short takeoff and landing too... you can get em as slow as 20mph before they'll stall out. It might be more with those big floats, but allaround a sick little plane. Maule's are great too. Maules are short takeoff and landing, seat 4, and have a ridiculously low stall speed. They can take a real beating too. We used them for search and rescue when snowmobiles and ice fishermen fell through the ice in Wisconsin. You can pretty much hover in them, sit right above an accident and wait for the ground teams to show up.

I have no idea about what plane that is. Sorry. Both my uncle and his two sons are pilots though. I'll ask later what kind of plane it is. On a side note, my cousin Andy flies people around and is a certified mechanic as well. He flew a group of 5 people to Wisconsin over the weekend for a golfing outing in their $4 million plane. Must be nice to be able to go literally anywhere on the drop of a hat.

What a wonderful trip it looked like, thank you for posting the pictures! Great post!

Nice Photos, no greater feeling than making a fire in front of a group of people. provided you nail it the first time.

Great Pics M,

Looks like a great trip. I love those old barns and farm buildings. Thanks for giving us a look!

Great pics. Thought of my son while looking at them. I plan to get him into outdoors stuff as much as possible when he's a bit bigger (he's not even 3 yet).
