So COOOOOL!!! I'm expecting my pair anytime this morning or afternoon, but I had never seen a decent picture - that's even better than I had imagined! Nobody had mentioned the nifty "bug" on the handle, or that it was flat ground. Neato! I was wondering how they were going to fit a lanyard hole into a knife that size, too. Clever stuff. Do we know what the blade steel is (since I'm going to put mine through rigorous cutting tests

).

Now the only problem is going to be hiding the two of them until my girlfriend's birthday next month ... maybe I'll take mine out and wear it late at night wile no one's around

James, great pic. Wets my appetite even more, man I can't wait. Now I'm sorry I opted for UPS ground delivery.

(Lucky Dog is waiting…Lucky Dog is waiting…Lucky Dog is waiting)LUCKY DOG IS WAITING!!!

WOW! This is pretty! I'm waiting for the tie clip, myself, since I don't think I would wear the necklace. I hope it's as nice as this one. But I'm not really worried about that.

I'm sure it will be well done. Just make it long enough to put on varying widths of ties, keeping in mind that the widths do vary and a 2" tie clip would be at best marginal on a 3" tie. I imagine that I'd want one a bit longer (at least 20%) than the necklace knife. The abalone handle that I seem to recall reading about sounds spectacular.

Thanks for putting the picture up, James, I just showed it to my wife, who was ready to be bored. Oops, she LIKES it!! Putting the penny in was a good reference point. I told her we'd both get one and instead of demurring, she only mentioned that the chain would need upgrading !
Who knew ?

Can somebody please tell me if these are still available and where they are available? Please, please, please I NEED one. NOW!

Thanx James, for this and the "R" scan. Great work.

The blade is ATS-34

Corduroy - rigorous for you or the mouse doing the tests?

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, are these going to be available in plain edge?

Thanks,

Clay

Got mine yesterday! What a neat knife! Very nice workmanship. I was hesitant to stare at Danelle's too hard (Guys, she is real easy to look at!) but, several of the other Sypderco people had them on too. Now, Sal I NEED a Military and Terzuola necklace knife!

NOW I'm blushing...! Fish, you are too sweet..
No plain edge on these, I'm afraid...more batches are coming...be patient..call Ironstone and get yours on backorder if you want one..
Danelle

Danelle,

I received mine this afternoon and its every bit as nice as those pictures James posted. Like Sal and your husband, I found the neck chain gauge a bit tiny so I swapped it out with a heavy flat edged 30" chain which adds a nice masculine touch.

This weekend I intend to gold fill the litty Spydie emblem using Bonanza's gold fill kit that I've used on firearms successfully. Ought to add a real nice touch.

Thanks again for all the help. It was very sweet of you.

I have one on order and can barely wait. I'm replacing a St.Christopher neclace that has served only to rub off my chest hair over the years.
Will the ATS-34 blade be rust-prone in the hostile Oklahoma summer heat (toxic sweat) ?
Bill

I have them in stock, but there's no way I can beat $45.00, or even come close.

Nice pictures James.

I was one of the ten who jumped in and bought them early from some place in Texas. I bought it for my wife for her birthday. She opened it up and I carefully explained about the materials and quality. She opened it up and then I showed her how to close it. She then said, "I can't wait until YOUR birthday." She handed me back the knife and original box and it hasn't been opened since (23 MAY). I would have to say it has been my least used Spyderco! (Therefore the Oklahoma heat hasn't been a problem!)

Dang, hubby got me a laundry basket for my birthday once, but I still told him he's the greatest and gave him a kiss....lol

i couldnt pick out a good christmas gift for my wife so i got her what I wanted one year. nearly ten years later, i still hear about that one form time to time. these sort of "mistakes" never go away...
