Mnandi blade finish - Bead Blast?

How do you think and Mnandi would look with a bead blasted blade finish? One of the things that frustrates me about my Mnandis is that just opening them ruins the highly polished look of the blade. I get really picky about cleaning off the blade before putting it away. It's kind of a pain. A bead blasted finish would be so much easier and low maintenance but I have a hard time imaging what it would look like.

I hate it as we'll, but I treat my stonewashed blades the same as my polished. The finger oils are still on that stonewashed blade!

The Mnandi is such a classy gent's knife, I think it would look "off" with a bead blasted blade. I do think a hand rubbed satin finish like you see on customs would look great.

I don't know if this helps but for comparison I have have three sebenzas with three finishes. I think I would prefer a stonewashed with polished sides.

I would love a BeadBlast finish on a Mnandi or Sebenza.

The BeadBlast on my xm-18 looks sweet and it actually quite tough.

Dinokay....that beadblasted original Sebenza belongs to me...you better return it to me, I will PM you my address. I might even paypal you a finders fee. ;)

I would blast my sebenza blades but i heard it would void the warranty, so i never did. My friend got a cabinet and I went beadblasting crazy. I blast everything, flashlights, jewelry, water bottles, knives, I would beadblast my iphone if i could.

Love the way the finish looks and wears. The handles on my large reg sebenza, which I edc, have worn so nicely over the years you couldn't buy a finish like it. Nice and worn beadblasted finish gives such great character IMO.

Let us know please if you ever pull the trigger and blasting that mnandi!

I agree. The stonewash looks really good. Hides fingerprints really well too. Love the Beadblasted blade too though!!!! Great knives!

From the nail nick on my Mnandi I can imagine the whole blade with that finish.
That would be a lot of grey. Maybe with some dark inlay like ebony.
The bocote one, that sits in front of me, looks perfect as it is (to me).
I like the look of the steel.
If you ever get another finish on your blade, I'd be curious to see pixs.

I don't think I would want a bead blast finish on one. Wouldn't match the handle, but thats just my opinion, and it may look better than I think.

I would like to see a Mnandi with a tumbled blade, blasted handle, and with micarta or carbon fiber scales. Don't think they will ever make one though.

And?.....What's the second half of this story??

Have not heard back from them yet. I sent it late yesterday afternoon and they close on Fridays. Maybe I'll hear back on Monday. I just sent one of my Mnandis in for a spa treatment because the blade was all scratched up...
