Mnandi blade retention

Has anyone adjusted their mnandi's lockbar tension in order to create a greater blade detent strength? I've done the same for my small sebenza as over the years it seemed to become lessened/weaker. Doing it for my mnandi seems just as simple a process but as the lockbar is considerably smaller I'd hate to be bending it and have it fail, as in suddenly bend much too far. If anyone's done this to theirs I'd be interested in hearing from you.

I keep mine in it's slip case in my pocket in part owing to the concern that it could open accidentally.

Thanks.

I don't see the need. I have 4 Mnandis, and they were all fine out of the box. I'd leave good enough alone.

I wouldn't worry about it. I carried one in my pocket for years and it never opened on me. The blade is so light that it would be very difficult to generate the inertial force necessary to overcome the ball detent.

I've never had an issue like that with any CRK folder, never mind the little Mnandi.
As mentioned the Mnandi blade is so light that it should really be of little concern.

Either way, I sure as he77 wouldn't "adjust" the lockbar myself. If you think it needs attention, send it to CRK. They're quick, friendly and know the knives and techniques best.

I agree with this advice because if something does happen and you mess up the lock bar you are SOL because you voided your warranty by adjusting it yourself.
