Hello,

after a few large Sebenza coming into my house, the first Mnandi has landed. I was courious whether it will be too small for my hands but it seems to be okay for normal edc tasks. Having some experience with Sebenza's I should not be surprised by the quality delivered by CR ..... but still I am. Absolutely fantastic fit and finish ! The Mnandi is a perfect gentleman knife but still strong enough and reliable due to the integral lock locking mechanism. Particularely amazing to me is the construction with only 2 screws.

Hope you enjoy the pics ....... just a few :))

James....without question those are some of the finest photographs on this site. The knives are both gorgeous, but also BRAVO on the images you made of them. Super great work!

That is some all round superbness, the knives and pics are very nice indeed. :)

Great pair and nice pics..

I would like to own a Mnandi again someday..

Great pixs -thanks for sharing.
Doesn't make it any easier for me to decide on my x-mas budget.

Thanks a lot to all of you, for your kind comments !

Johnny,

regarding equipment. I am using a Canon EOS 5 body, a Canon 50mm macro lens for the total perspective and a Canon 100mm macro lens for the details. A tripod and a cable switch to avoid vibrations. Also I found that besides camera equipment using the correct light is essential. This year I bought this so called "Mini Foto Studio", which is a package of this little "cabin", various colored backgrounds (although my favourite is the black background) and ..... most important ...... two 5400K "neutral lights". This set up with the 5400K lights did bring my pictures really to a higher level, if you know what I mean (sorry, I am not a native English speaker).

Thanks for sharing this info and the picture of your set-up. Do you find the photos reveal every spec of dust and you have to clean the knives extra careful?

Yep ! Pure nightmare :-) The knives are not really the problem. Of course wiping off dust, hairs, whatever and that's it. But the black plastic background seems to generate some "electrical-static-energy-uploading" ..... and "pulls" every peace of dust which is in the room onto its plastic surface. Like a magnetic shield. Terrible :-) So I am trying to take the majority of the dust away before each shot. But the real work starts after the shooting at the computer, using photoshop and taking out the pieces of dust. Overall I need approx. 15 minutes per picture, uploading the pictures to the computer in raw format, making the minor corrections (e.g. exposure), then cleaning the dust off, which takes most of the time. Downsizing the final picture for upload ..... In total approx 1 hour for shooting and 6 hours for preparing and uploading.

This is an example of a picture which I have not "cleaned" via photoshop, as it was just for my sales add and I did not want to spend too much time on it:
