So I've fallen in love with the crk mnandi. The knife shop closest to me has a good handful of crk knives (15-20 or so) and after handling an umnumzaan, sebenza, and mnandi I was only striken by the mnandi. Im selling off my sypderco cf balance and a pm2 I just picked up to help fund the purchase. While I wait for the funds to come in, I wanted to get some other opinions.

One thing I really like about the mnandi and would really hate to give up in another knife is the pocket clip. The pen style clip grabs your attention, but doesnt say "lookit I have a knife" when you are wearing dress pants. And I dont like NOT having a clip because of how easily things show through dress pants. Obviously the craftmanship and attention to detail is superb, but at this price point that is something I would expect. What other knives fit this bill in this price range?

The only other folder I have that reminds me a bit of the Mnandi is the Al Mar Falcon.

Everything about it is different vs. the CRK--the lock, materials, blade style (it has a big swedge), opening, size, clip--etc.

But as a smallish, thin, light gentleman's folder, it's the only knife I've handled and thought, "Hey, this feels kinda like a Mnandi!" It is well made, and about 1/3 to 1/4 of the price of the Mnandi.

Check out the CRKT Ken Onion Eros. I have seen it compared to the Mnandi a few times.

This^^^.

Don't get me wrong. The Mnandi is wonderful little (and I do mean "little") knife. But I prefer something with a bit more handle length that's a little easier to open one-handed. YMMV.

Yes, William Henry +2. The edc line is more inexpensive and does not have the solid feeling of a mnandi, but if you go to regular production line they are on par with the mnandi. Top notch fit and finish and nice materials, and I really like the button lock.

I was going to say Spyderco Air. But it has no pocket clip.

Other than that it probably would be a perfect match.

Almost anything by Mcusta. I've only owned two, but both had superb fit & finish. The only downside compared to the Mnandi is that the pocket clips are a lot less pen-looking.

Physically there a number of knives that are comparable.....see previous posts. Having said that, I don't think there are any knives that are as nice....in my humble opinion. The fit, finish and durability of the Mnandi is beyond compare......

Thanks for the suggestions. I didnt see the william henry edcs, I wrote WH off as too ornate but I do like the edcs.

Benchmade Shoki, perhaps...

Not as nice as a Mnandi, though.
