Can the mnandi be taken apart like the sebenza for cleaning? I have a damascus mnandi on order which should arrive in about 9 months.

Can anyone, please, post some pics of a disassembled one.

Im thinking about buy a Mnandi, but is dificult to see and touch one here in Spain before bougt. And want at least to see all the pieces... almost every pic I have seen of mnandi are the same, handle view, opened or closed and nothing else.

Thanks friends. :)

I didn't find that it went together quite as easy as a Sebbie due to the smaller size. It was just as easy to disasemble.

Here's the various parts of a Mnandi. My list may not have the proper technical names for these items - I have just named them as such to help you identify them during assembly.

Mnandi (parts shown from top to bottom are)

Front side handle
Top row
-1. Pivot bolt
-2. Rear backspacer
-3. Pivot bushing
-4. Bladestop spacer
-5. Pivot screw cap
Bottom row
-1. Rear bolt
-2. Pivot screw
-3. Rear backspacer screw
-4. Large washer - front side
-5. Small washer - rear side, due to lock bar travel
Clip
Allen Key
At the bottom is the rear side handle with blade to the right.

Hope this helps :)

Warning though, the clip is a little tough to get out, you may find the
one side spinning, what was suggested to me was to press that side down
hard on a piece of rubber/nonslip surface while you try to loosen the screw.
nice knife btw!

Thanks for this. My Mnandi got a little sand in it over the weekend so I just placed an order for some fluorinated grease from CRK and plan on my first dis-assembly and cleaning once it arrives.

You're most welcome, sir!

Enjoy your first Mnandi strip and reassembly

I'm having some trouble getting the pivot bushing to come out. Should it just pop out with some force?

You may need to apply a little pressure to move it. Main thing is, don't push from one side of the bushing as you'll risk it getting wedged even tighter.

Get a cylindrical object like a bolt which is bigger than the pivot hole and smaller than the blade hole (or a tapered object to press into the pivot hole) and, holding the blade to make sure it looks and stays level, set the bolt or whatever upside-down on a good surface and press the blade down evenly.

Good luck, as I know it's a worry, but keep everything square and you'll be fine.
