Hi,

I need some advise. I am from India and have want to buy an lightweight EDC

General use in office and Home

Should look people friendly

Quality is important.

For me this is a big decision. Will not be able to change my mind, nor amd I likely to buy another knife for a long time.

After lot of looking around it was a tossup between a CRK Mnandi or WH Titan Lancet.

I decided to go with WH.
My reasons. ClipCase so more comfortable to hold the knife than to hold a knife with a clip.

I liked the shape of the blade.

I have no clue about steels, locks etc. Am I making an obviously wrong choice?

I had a WH T-10 with the DLC coating, and then got a Mnandi.
I compared the 2 and each has excellent points.
I decided I liked the Mnandi better (for my use), and haven't regretted it.

Bear in mind Mnandi is (at least was...???) twice the money too.

The WH has a much better steel, and will be more comfortable in the hand. I also think it looks better, but that is just my opinion.

Personally, I would avoid getting the lancet because it's small and thin. Make sure you're okay with the size. I'd really recommend buying the larger spearpoint model, which is the largest, but still pretty small.
By the way guys, I don't think he's talking about the ZDP models, so the steel should be the same, right?

The steel is zpd 189

What do you feel about their Wharncliffe blade. I like blades with a straightish edge, that is why I chose the lancet

Both of your choices are EXCELLENT!! I Love the ZDP-189!! I love both knives that you have chosen. I really, really like the WH!! Good choice. I DO recommend that you get a CRK Mnandi down the linne too. You will LOVE that knife.

Thanks all for the comments.

So right now WH, Mnandi after I save enough for one more

Your signature says it all

I actually have the Mnandi with the WH Clip Case, a great combo.
Don't get me wrong eventually I would love to own a WH as well.

I may be wrong but I do'nt think WH makes a Titan Lancet.I thought Titan was the new model with the new button lock.I had one of WH's old liner locks it was the one with the largest blade. It was a well made folder but it was so light weight it just gave me no confidence. It felt "cheap".I'm sure it was'nt but that was the feeling it gave me.
I now have the newer Westcliff model. Its also lightweight but not as much as the older liner lock.I like the button lock better than WH's liner lock and the titanium handle inspires more confidence to do heavier cutting jobs.
I also have a Mnandi which I would choose over WH's products. Its much more solidly built.Fit and finish is amoung the best there is.

I don't know if you've read much about ZDP steel, but take a few minutes to do it, it's very hard, and it's supposed to hold an edge much longer than others.
They are all good choices, but a matter of personal prefence. I'm sure know that a Wharnecliff is a great knife for a lot of people.
I don't know if you've done this yet, but again make sure you know the size of the knife you're getting. Get a ruler out and take a look, and make sure it's as large as you think it is. On small knives a 1/2 inch (or 2 cm) can make a big difference.
You will be very happy with the William Henries.
